FSSAI (Central & State):

 

FSSAI stands for Food Safety and Standards Authority Of India, an entity that oversees food enterprises by the FSSAI Act 2006. It is an autonomous organization formed by India's Ministry of Health and Welfare. To operate a food processing, manufacturing, packaging, or distribution business, you must get an FSSAI registration. FSSAI registration is required before beginning a food-related Business in India. The State Food Authorities and the Food Safety & Standard Authority of India are jointly in charge of enforcing the FSSAI guidelines. Everyone who wants to create a food business, including cloud kitchens like Rebel Foods & Biryani by Kilo, etc., and even exporting food products from India to other countries also must first get an FSSAI registration or license.

 

FSSAI sets guidelines and procedures for quality assurance of the accredited labs as per ISO17025.

 

 

FSSAI Registration:
 

Simply called FSSAI Basic Registration. This registration is appropriate for all food businesses and allied activities like Storage, sales, distribution, trading, re-packaging, and labeling. Food Businesses having a turnover of less than 12 lacs are eligible to obtain FSSAI Basic Registration. Mostly hawkers, petty retailers, temporary stall holders come under this category. This food license registration online registration is very useful for e-Commerce food traders.

 

FSSAI License:

There are two types of FSSAI licenses.

 

State License

Food Businesses have a turnover above Rs.12 lacs and up to Rs. 20 crores can opt for State License.

 

Central License
Those in the food business who has a turnover of Rs.20 crores and above are required to obtain a Central FSSAI License

  • Form B duly completed and signed

  • Plan of the processing unit showing the dimensions and operation-wise area allocation

  • List of Directors/ Partners/ Proprietor with address, contact details, and photo ID

  • Name and list of equipment and machinery used with the number and installed capacity

  • List of food categories to be manufactured

  • Authority letter from manufacturer nominated a responsible person name and address

  • Analysis report of water to be used in the process to confirm the portability

  • Proof of possession of premises- Electricity Bill (latest)

  • Index Copy (if the applicant is the owner of the place)

  • Rent Agreement, if applicable

  • Property Tax Bill of Business premises

  • Plan of the processing unit showing the dimensions and operation-wise area allocation

  • Photographs of Machinery and Lab Instruments

  • List of food categories to be manufactured

  • List of products along with ingredient and additives list to be manufactured

  • Authority letter from manufacturer nominated a responsible person name and address

  • BIS Certificate (Required for Packaged Drinking Water only)

  • Source of raw material for milk, meat, etc. (only required for Milk/ meat unit)

  • Ministry of Commerce Certificate for 100% EOU

  • IE code document issued by DGFT

  • Certificate from Ministry of Tourism

  • Proof of possession of premises- Electricity Bill (latest)

  • Index Copy (if the applicant id the owner of the place)

  • Rent Agreement, if applicable

  • Property Tax Bill of Business premises

  • Blueprint of the area (Layout Plan)

  • FSSAI License Certificate of Manufacturer along with NOC copy (required for Re-Packer)

  • Shop & Establishment Certificate with Professional Tax Certificate

  • Balance Sheet and P&L Statement of Financial Year (For Wholesaler/Retailer/ Supplier/Distributor KOB)

  • NOC and copy of License from the manufacturer

  • Food safety management system plan or certificate

  • NOC from the municipality or local body

  • CGWA NOC if the water is being used from bore-well, if not than an undertaking of water supply along with valid proof Supporting document for proof of turnover and transportation
